"Per tractor" prices sound simple until you realise one supplier's tractor holds less than another's. That's how people think they got a bargain and still paid more per CFT. Here's how the units work in Patna.
What a CFT is, in simple words
CFT means cubic foot — length × width × height in feet. Sand is sold by volume, not by weight. When we quote a rate per CFT, we're talking about how much space the sand fills, not how heavy the load feels.
1 brass = 100 CFT
Older contractors still talk in brass. One brass is 100 CFT. If someone quotes per brass, divide by 100 to compare with a per-CFT rate.
Typical tractor and truck loads in Patna
Capacities vary by trolley and body size. We list our current tractor and truck CFT on the rate page and update it with the weekly rates. Always ask any supplier: "Kitne CFT ka load hai?" before you compare prices.
How to measure a load yourself
Approximate the heap or trolley: length × width × height in feet. For a loosely heaped load, don't count the peak as full height across the whole body — use a fair average height. If the number is well below what was promised, say so before the driver leaves.
Comparing two suppliers properly
Convert everything to price per CFT. A "cheaper" tractor that carries fewer CFT can cost more overall. Also ask whether the rate includes loading, unloading and delivery to your gate — ghat rates and delivered rates are not the same thing.
